Most EVE Online Players have a common problem, too many windows and not enough space. There's so much information you need to have displayed to fly your ship but never enough space to display it all.
Most Pilots have at least:
- Overview
- Selected Item
- Local Chat
- Directional Scanner
- Other Chat Channels
- and maybe the cargo
With all that it's really easy to cover your entire screen, and once you do that, it's much harder to see what's happening when you're fighting. That's why I'm always looking for ways to reclaim screen real estate and simplify my HUD.
Not long ago, I saw a corp member using the "Compact Memberlist" and liked it. I'ld never seen (or noticed) it before, so I quickly figured out how to set mine up that way.

Do you know the ctrl A trick? select a guy in local the click ctrl A and it will highlight everyone so new guys in local wont be highlighted its a good way of keeping track of who is new in local
