If you happened to run into me this summer in Syndicate, Cloud Ring, Fade, or else where, I was most likely flying a Pilgrim.
In fact, I virtually lived in a Pilgrim for about 4 months. Party because I was making a guide about it and partly because it was just such an awesome ship.
The reason for this is because in my opinion the Pilgrim is currently the best Solo PVP Ship in the game!
And, what's even better is that no one else knows it yet!
The reason for this is due to the fact that not too long ago the Pilgrim got a huge Buff and almost no one noticed. That Buff was to give the Energy Neutralizers a Range Bonus so they reached out to 25km instead of about 13km. As a result, many people are shocked when you neut them past 13km.
Because the Pilgrim can kill it's enemies capacitor, change damage types with different drones, and fly at high speeds, it is insanely difficult to kill while at the same time being capable of killing most ships in the game 1 on 1.
If you've been out solo PVPing lately you know that it can be incredibly frustrating sometimes because of the insta-locking camps with ECM and webs. Trying to solo in Null Sec without a scout can result in quite a few losses where you have absolutely ZERO chance to survive.
The Pilgrim on the other hand can penetrate deep into enemy space with ease.
It can escape all but the very best gate camps.
Your Cloak allows you to haunt your enemies, striking from the darkness and killing your targets with devastating effectiveness.
These are the reasons I decided to name it the "Ninja Pilgrim Guide" instead of my more common format of Pilgrim PRO Guide.
When you fly this ship, you feel like a Ninja, you think like a Ninja, and best of all you act like a Ninja.
Log in and cloak at a safe spot in your enemies system before work, then at lunch time you strike and kill a ratter in an anomaly.
Later that night you get online for your main gaming session of the day and because you've been afk so long the enemy has decided you're no longer a threat so they start ratting, mining, or camping again. You take advantage of this by sneaking up on your prey and then uncloaking and crushing them before they can figure out what just happened.
In the process of making this Guide I wanted to test it's effectiveness at using these tactics to disrupt another Alliance. So I set off to a little pocket in Syndicate which was inhabited mostly by people wanting to avoid combat and just Mine, Rat, and do the occasional camp.
What followed was over a month of carnage, and by the end of my stay many of the people in that alliance had left for high sec, another group had left the area completely, and the main alliance had come to hate me so much they started a mailing list about me to vent their frustrations.
This was all as a result of me constantly hunting and killing them every where they went. Jumping from system to system, I was there. Running a combat site, I was there. Mining Op, I was there.
I became their Boogie Man and the Pilgrim was ship that made it all possible.
The new Ninja Pilgrim Guide will be released on Sunday October 11th at 20:00 EVE Time (That’s 4 pm USA Eastern Time).
Here is a quick preview of the new guide:
Watch Full Screen
In my example above I described just how effective the Pilgrim can be at devastating an enemy from inside their home area, but that's not all it can do.
In the video above you can see an example of the most common ways to use a Pilgrim:
- Jumping into a camp, then killing them all while using your neuts to control range and remove tackle.
- Hunting Ratters and Miners in space where they "think" they are safe.
- Camping a bubble in a pipe system while cloaked so that you not only kill everyone who gets caught, but also the hostiles who see your bubble and decide they will camp it.
Then there's one more fantastic use for the Pilgrim I found while using it...
Often times I would be out solo and my alliance would be roaming nearby, so I would join them with my Pilgrim. What usually resulted was some awesome fights where the enemy engaged thinking they could win but quickly found out that Logistics doesn't work too well with 3 Pilgrim Nuets on it.
Being able to surprise your enemies in Fleets in crucial to getting fights and winning fights in Fleet PVP. The Pilgrim is a great tool for that.
So just whats in the Ninja Pilgrim Guide?
I have created two Fittings for the Pilgrim that I think are optimized for the job they do. One is Armor and one is Shield. You will get both of these fittings and instructions on when to use them and when not to.
Then there is the Fitting Video Discussion where I teach you about the fits, why it's fit that way, and how to make the most of each ship.
Next, there's a Tactics Lecture where I teach you the tactics and operation of the Pilgrim. This includes things like how to escape when your enemies blobs you, how to fight out numbered, and how to use your Pilgrim to maximum effectiveness.
Finally, there are over 3 HOURS of real life PVP Footage (with more coming) where you watch me in real solo PVP while telling you exactly what's happening as I go. This is the fastest and easiest way to learn PVP.
In these Narrated Videos I have also taken the time to Illustrate some of them like you see in the Preview Above. I do this to further break down the fights and tactics so that you can repeat what I do very easily when you're out dominating in the Pilgrim.
The Ninja Pilgrim Guide will be released at 20:00 EVE Time on Sunday October 11th.
...and as always there will be a very special First Day Bonus!
Of the people who buy within 24 hours of release I will be drawing two people.
The First winner will get EVERY GUIDE FREE. That's right, you will get every PVP and ISK Guide on EVE Pro Guides for FREE.
The Second winner will a free 1 on 1 roam with me in the ship types or fleet of their choice.
Seriously excited for this video! The teaser looked awesome! Good work dude. Will be buying when released.
WOW, I just started taking a break from eve a few weeks ago. I was thinking my break could be a few more months but now after seeing this I can’t wait to get this guide. Especially now since I left the game solo, in an npc corp, I just have to fly this and go do some solo pvp!
You forgot to tell the estimated price of the guide 😉
I was planning on $29 because it’s longer than many of my guides, but that’s more due to the fact I flew it so much than it is because it needs to be that long. I just really enjoyed the ship.
So probably $19 like most of the other guides.
Having a ship that didn’t die when I had to run to bathroom, answer the phone, or grab a beer really suited my playing style. Pause for EVE pretty much.
Btw wanted to ask your opinion, if you don’t mind – how much are Curse piloting and battle tactics different from Pilgrim ones?
Once the fight starts, not a whole lot. The Curse is better… More EHP, More Neut Range, etc.
I prefer the Pilgrim not because it’s a better ship in combat but because the ability to cloak gives you a level a safety that is impossible in the Curse. This allows you survive what can be a extremely hostile environment for solo pilots in null sec.
Does this ship work in low sec gate camps as well or is there not enough ehp for gate guns?
It could work in a Low Sec camp, but not alone. Ideally another ship would take the initial aggro. The tank is not enough take gate guns for long. Maybe 30-45 seconds at most.
I have been soaking up hours of narrated footage and must say, I am very impressed with the amount of information and detailed tactics provided by Abbadon21. In one day I have already stripped down and refitted my Pilgrim properly, found my way to null backwaters, and am looking for a proper target to begin my campaign of cloaky terror!
This guide is outstanding. I can clearly see the amount of effort put into this work and plan to pick up the everything bundle over the next few days. Abbadon21 is legit, and so is the Pilgrim guide!
Awesome, I’m glad you like the guide. Thank you for taking time to write a comment about it. I’m going to add this to the Testimonials/Review page.
I currently only have Gallente Cruizer trained to V so I can fly the Arazu and Lachesis. Would that be a good option to the Pilgrim or what are your thoughts on those shipas and would the guide be somewhat aplicable to them aswell?
A Arazu can do many of the things that a Pilgrim can do but the different bonuses mean you have to fly differently. Solo is possible with the Arazu, but it’s not as good as the Pilgrim for many reasons like the lack of neuts and ewar that limits damage output because it encourages you to stay at range.
The guide would help with some of the overall strategy and mindset but honestly, you should just train the Pilgrim. It’s worth it.
Hmm maybe I should but there are so many other ships as well 🙂
I have quite a few of your guides that I am interested in but having a hard time to choose. Does the 60/90 day money back guarantee work for the package that includes all your guides? Thing is that buying them separately I´ll almost be up to that price anyways so thinking of just getting the whole package.
The 60 day Guarantee is for each and every guide including any bundles.
