How to Avoid Bubbles in Null Sec

0

Drag (and stop) Bubbles are Bubbles placed either in front of or behind a warpable object. Their purpose is to pull ships out of warp at some distance away from the object they intended to warp to.

Let’s talk Mechanics:

For a bubble to work it must:

  • Be Online
  • Be on the same grid as the object that was warped to
  • Be directly in front of or behind the warped to object and on the same “line of warp”

The line of warp extends past the warped to object, thus allowing for drag bubbles that pull you past the gate.

Imagine a line starting from origin, going to destination, then continuing on past the destination. That’s the “line of warp.”

So how do you avoid bubbles?

Usually the best way is to come in at an angle. Since you’re coming from a different direction (planet, belt, etc) you will not get caught unless the gate is completely covered by the bubble(s) so that every direction is covered.

How can you tell if the gate is covered in bubbles or if there is a HIC or Interdictor there bubbling?

Add Mobile Warp Disruptors and Warp Disruption Probes to your overview then use your directional scanner to scan gates …Read More…

Timebomb – Bombing PVP Video

0

Bombs are a seriously underused weapon in EVE, and their unique attributes make them very useful in special situations… Like the first scene in this video.

A few days earlier I engaged this stabber in my Hurricane expecting an easy kill, only for him to scram me and Black Ops drop 20+ Recons and Stealth Bombers on me.

Knowing that he would be over confident about his success, I refit my Armageddon and left it in waiting in a my hanger.

Just as predicted he came out a few days later with the same stabber. So I warped to the station at 100km and waited.

The rest you will see in the video!

Following that there is some cool bomber fleet action, where we show how just 5  or so pilots can engage a much larger blob and get steady easy kills with the right tactics.

Music is: Bomber by Motorhead

You can watch it on Youtube in 720p or if you want the best quality, you can download it from EVE-Files here: http://eve-files.com/dl/242597

No Brakes – Guide Version

0

Several people have told me how they didn’t like the standard PVP video format. You know, lots of fast fights set to music with no other content. I think people watch PVP videos more as a way to learn than they do as entertainment. Because of that I have started going back and narrating my old PVP videos.

Basically, I watch the videos and tell you why I do things, how I’ve set it up, and whatever else you might want to know. This quick inty video is the first in the series.

Tricky Caracal – PVP Video

0

Back when I first started making videos I had an idea for a “Anti-Frig” Caracal. I think the idea occured to me when I was camping some drag bubbles on a highsec gate with a rifter and a caracal came in and killed me.

Back when I filmed this my missile skills were really bad, in fact I think most were level 3 with a couple at level 4.

Since then I’ve went back and level fived a lot of those skills. I may do a sequel at some point since I still have the same caracal used in the video.

I don’t recall the exact fit, but basically I used assault missile launchers + ballistic controls + dual webs + rigs that increase missile damage on small targets. The result is a ship that just shreds frigates, especially if you have decent skills.
