Exploration and Hacking Minigame Guide

9

A reliable way to generate income in EVE is through the exploration system, which involves finding and running sites. This can be a great way to generate or supplement your EVE Income if you take the time to learn it.

In this video, Kirk will go in depth on the topic and cover everything you need to know from beginning to end.

This is Kirks first post for EVE Pro Guides, so I (Abbadon21) am writing this but in the future I hope to see more guides and articles from Kirk.

Core Skills: Using EFT to “Simulate” Fights with DPS Graph

0

“To know your Enemy, you must become your Enemy.”
-Sun Tzu

In this short video you will learn how to use EFT’s DPS Graph Feature to simulate fights between two different ships. Doing this allows you to learn more about the capabilities of your ship and chosen fitting. The more you know about what your ship can and can’t handle, the more effective you will be at using it.

The two ships I used in this “Simulation” are the Tornado and the Thorax. This is an ideal fight for the Tornado if the pilot executes well which is shown in the video. Should the Thorax get a Scram, the Tornado is toast.

Another topic I cover in this video is leadership and command links. As part of this example I show you how big a difference an off grid Linky Loki can make. This shows how to apply leadership skills and bonuses to your EFT stats.

Core Skills: Combat Probing After Odyssey

3

The new Odyssey expansion included some very serious changes to Combat Probing in EVE Online. The effect was that Probing became far easier and faster. With the new “Formations” you can quickly set all your probes into an ideal formation for finding targets. Plus, you can now drop ALL of your probes a one time, rather than launching them one at a time like in the past.

Personally, I don’t probe unless it’s absolutely necessary, so I’m no PRO at it. However this video will give you the basic idea so that you can Probe people quickly.

If I did want to take this to the maximum I would focus on boosting scan strength to the max with a Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher, Sisters Combat Probes, a Covert Ops ship with Gravity rigs, etc. Doing that will allow you to get most ships with one 4 AU scan like you see in this video.
